Welcome to the landing page for the Fall Invitations to Play Series brought to you by Chelsey of Buggy and Buddy, Shaunna of Fantastic Fun and Learning, Ann of My Nearest and Dearest, Jessica of Play Trains ,and Stephanie of Twodaloo. Recently each of us posted a week’s worth of simple play invitations on our blogs. On this page you’ll find links to ALL of them. That’s a total of 25 fall themed invitations to play!
So just what is “an invitation to play”? The concept is actually quite simple. Basically an invitation to play is a thoughtfully chosen group of materials (these could be natural objects, art supplies, toys, etc.) arranged in an appealing way in a location easily accessible to a child. Invitations to play are designed to engage a child in open-ended play, can often be re-visited, and encourage independent thinking, creativity, and problem-solving. But most importantly, they’re just plain fun!
This series has something for everyone: outdoor play, open-ended art projects, sensory activities, ideas for occupying and engaging toddlers, fine motor practice, etc. We hope you’ll pin and share this page (and our posts of course 😉 ) and be inspired to set up invitations to play for the little ones in your life.
25 Fall Invitations to Play
***Since this was a 5 day series and we have 25 play invitations to share, I’ve organised them by day. This is simply to make this page easier to read (one long list with 25 photos would be a little much!). Each photo collage includes an image from each blogger’s post that she published on that day of the series. Under each collage are links (written in brown) which will take you to the full posts with details and more photos.***
